Dave Schmidt, WBA executive director, runs the cream puff operation at Wisconsin State Fair Park.  Every year Dave hires approximately 200 employees that help make, bake, and sell Original Cream Puffs^(R) to hungry fairgoers.  The Cream Puff operation has been a success for both the WBA and the Wisconsin State Fair since 1924.  

The organization that oversees the Dairy Bakery Operation is called OCP Bakers, LLC.  This organization, which has its own board of managers, was created in 2006 and the inaugural board meeting was held April 24, 2007.  Dave Schmidt is the president of this organization.
 

The 2012 Wisconsin State Fair runs from Aug. 2-12.

The State Fair Cream Puff Tradition Celebrated its 87th Year in 2011! 
These are unofficial numbers from the 2011 Fair, as we continue to crunch them.  Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Bakery!

Additional Highlights from the 2011 Wisconsin State Fair

* WBA Executive Director Dave Schmidt and Team Cream Puff set the Guinness Book World Record for largest cream puff!  The monster puff tipped the scales at 125.6 pounds!

* Team Cream Puff helped with the Celebrity Cream Puff Eating Competition; and Cream Puff Eating Competitions for all age groups.  Taking home the traveling trophy and a face full of cream again this year in the Celebrity Cream Puff Eating Competition was Dave Murphy from Oldies 95.7 (WRIT).  He also won the title in 2009.
